I.L.A.S.

A humanoid machine piloted by a once-human soul.

The Impaired Lifeform Alternative System, shortened to ILAS, is the official name given to the original [REDACTED] blueprints. Codenamed "Mantis" due to the older draft's long front-facing antennae, these machines are designed for what can be implied by the public name; to be products designed to provide practical immortality to people nearing the end of their lifespan.

This line of products never reached the public market. Very few machines following these blueprints were built. This document focuses on only one surviving proof of these machines.

The host of the machine has chosen to remain anonymous, aside from providing some following details, and asks to be referred to by either blueprint name or codename.

Origin [REDACTED]

origin

Following the disaster that befell upon [REDACTED] and it's fleet, these lines of products had to be held back for release amongst the public outcry. Many had come to the conclusion that the catastrophe was a vastly deranged marketing ploy to attract attention to the line of products, which made many more harass [REDACTED] for faking the deaths of hundreds of real lives. The company stressed that this was a real incident, not a marketing strategy, and published proof of compensation to the families. Alas, the public was not satiated. [REDACTED] was swiftly boycotted, numerous employees resigned, and the company eventually went bankrupt, long before these products could release.

The blueprints were purged from company records sometime before liquidation. Anonymous is the only known person with tangible blueprints.

design

The machine is designed to resemble that of an adult human.

The most notable difference is that these machines only have one eye and a speaker in place of a mouth. In original blueprints it also has no round edges aside from the joints and the lens.

As mentioned previously, older iterations had much longer antennae. They had to be changed due to some users getting them stuck in elevator shaft gaps and, well... For the following iterations, the antennae became removable, and different placements were tested.

MK. I

MK. I followed these blueprints as best as possible. It consists of many parts of the hull of the ruined [REDACTED] and it's onboard components mangled together.

MK. I runs on an old version of the distributed [REDACTED] Operating System, which was only meant to run on DOS-based computers. Due to it's clunkiness, it was one of the first things to be replaced on the machine.

MK. II

MK. II on the surface is identical to MK. I besides a fresh coat of paint, but it features custom-made parts, a newer, fully featured operating system, fresh materials, and a whole host of extra addons.

MK. II is also made entirely from scratch. All materials that the old MK. I were made out of were trashed in favor of fresh ones.
